TechEmerge, a World Bank Group initiative, is a first of its kind matchmaking program for proven technology companies around the world that are looking to grow their business in emerging markets. IFC’s unique acceleration platform connects startups globally with leading corporations in emerging economies to form new partnerships. Our objective is to bring technologies to new markets, and spur sustainable innovation in the regions that need it the most.

The inaugural program was launched for the healthcare technology market in India, with the dual goals of improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. 330 companies from 29 countries submitted applications to the program. The top 33 startups were selected to attend the TechEmerge matchmaking event in India, where they had one-on-one meetings with leading Indian healthcare providers. As a result, 17 innovators were successfully matched with 15 providers, and they will now be implementing 22 pilot projects as a first step to building long-term partnerships.

The TechEmerge India program is in full swing, and we're excited to announce that the first pilot projects have completed and commercial contracts have been signed. Watch the video below with testimonials from the matched innovators and providers, and learn more about technology solutions that are transforming Indian healthcare.
