Solutions
CoolVeg’s portable forced-air evaporative cooling chambers use commonly available insulation panels to create a lightweight storage chamber for fruits and vegetables. Using a commercially available evaporative cooler and carefully designed airflow pathways allows for the contents of the chamber to be quickly and efficiently cooled. The system can be carried by 6 people or transported on a small truck and deployed in off-grid settings at less than half the cost of a refrigerated cold room.
The mobile forced-air evaporative cooling chamber leverages the materials used in commercially available evaporative coolers to cool fruits and vegetables inside a storage compartment on a truck or other vehicle. The key innovation that makes this solution effective is the airflow pathways, the configuration of the insulation, and the arrangement of the crates to optimize the cooling rate and the system's efficiency. This system is well-suited for applications where pre-cooling is needed.
The forced-air evaporative cooling chamber uses the materials used in commercially available evaporative coolers to cool fruits and vegetables inside a 20’ or 40’ shipping container. The key innovation that makes this solution effective is the airflow pathways, the configuration of the insulation, and the arrangement of the crates to optimize the cooling rate and the system's efficiency. The system can be deployed in off-grid settings at less than half the cost of a refrigerated cold room.
