The system features a 50‑liter “two‑milkings” tank, capable of cooling the volume of one milking down to 4 °C within 2 hours, even when the outside temperature reaches 30 °C. The insulated, double‑walled tank integrates the gel from FREECOLD’s patented Ecotainer technology, enabling battery‑free cooling..

The Sun4Coldstorage project by Freecold consists of solar-refrigerated warehouses, in new construction or fitting out of existing warehouses, located near agricultural and farming areas or near cities. They include:

- A large capacity cold room

- Propane refrigeration units

- A solar plant and power conversion

- Batteries to power auxiliary loads (compressor start up, circulation of coolant, valves, and fans)

- Cold storage using water based Phase Change Material (PCM)

- A control system

- Remote monitoring.
