Kobo360 and Tak Logistics

Yams are a staple food in Nigeria, but an estimated 40 percent of crop yields are wasted due to a lack of temperature-controlled storage. Nigerian innovator Tak Logistics and African e-logistics company Kobo360 are partnering in a pilot that seeks to extend the shelf life of yams by six months. This sustainable cooling solution will deploy a Bitzer compressor with low-GHG refrigerant at a specially constructed insulated storage facility built of adobe bricks.
