For last-mile intra-city distribution, 18ft trucks were equipped with two PCM-lined chambers, one for frozen products and the other for chilled products.

Kennie-O CCL, PLUSS and Integrated Motors Industries
In this project, Indian innovator Pluss is partnering with transport company Kennie-O Cold Chain Logistics and Integrated Motors Industries, to pilot an insulated container & refrigeration unit provider. They are field testing the application of innovative phase change material (PCM) technology to a small refrigerated ‘reefer’ truck and a new solar-powered cold storage room with the aim of reducing energy consumption by up to 30 to 40% and improving efficiency.

Amo Farm, PLUSS, and KSR Engineering
Two Nigerian companies, integrated poultry company Amo Farm and engineering company KSR, are teaming up with Indian innovator PLUSS to field test a solution that enhances polymer properties and phase change materials (PCMs) to provide passive cooling for small refrigerated ‘reefer’ trucks. The pilot aims to reducing electricity and fuel usage by these vehicles by up to 40 percent.
