Purix

Innovator

The company manufactures patented sustainable cooling technology powered by thermal energy and the natural, non-flammable refrigerant R718 (water). Its plug and play products and systems target the high-volume market for cooling and air conditioning below 100 kilowatts (kW). The company also manufactures a patented low-cost, high-performance, configurable Thermal Energy Storage system with bulk phase change materials (PCM) applying direct-contact technology.

The company participated in a number of TechEmerge pilots which are described below. More data on the pilot experience is available from the report "TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Innovation Program: Results and Lessons Learned".

Solutions

PURIX TES-X
PURIX TES-X is a configurable thermal energy storage system that uses bulk phase change materials (PCM) and direct-contact technology.

The TES-X series offers a wide range of storage temperatures for cooling and heating applications, and the application of bulk PCM offers a state-of-the-art heat transfer performance and low equipment cost.

Solar Cooling system
This modular multi-split solar air conditioning system delivers more than 2.5 kilowatts (kW) of cooling and is powered by low-temperature heating water or solar energy. It applies R718 (water) as a natural refrigerant.

By combining modules into systems with a higher capacity of up to 160 kW, the system supports competitive equipment costs, easy installation, and simple maintenance.

Instant District Cooling
PURIX Instant District cooling product range, offers multi split cooling and air conditioning (AC) system modules of 2.5kW, 10kW, and 15kW. The systems are designed for Plug and Play installation and do not require engineering.

For demands requiring higher capacity, modules can be combined into systems delivering up to 160kW, maintaining competitive equipment costs, installation, and maintenance. Instant District Cooling systems cut power demand and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions related to cooling by up to 80%.
